Hi, I’m Yelena Letser, M.A., CCC-SLP

I'm a certified speech-language pathologist, the founder of Holistically Speaking, and a member of this community — serving families in Flower Mound and Denton County for over 15 years.

When I began my career in 2008, I felt fully prepared. I had the knowledge, the clinical tools, and the training. But early on, I noticed something that would change the way I practice forever.

Many of the children I worked with were overwhelmed, dysregulated, and struggling to feel calm and connected. Working on speech and language goals in that state was often frustrating — for the child, for the family, and honestly, for me too.

That realization changed everything.

As I looked deeper, I kept seeing the same thread: children operating in a constant state of stress or "fight or flight." And when a nervous system is overwhelmed, communication becomes much harder — no matter how skilled the therapist or how willing the child.

So I shifted my entire approach.

Today, I focus on supporting regulation first — because when a child feels safe, calm, and connected, communication develops more naturally, more effectively, and with far less frustration.

I work closely with families and collaborate with other specialized providers to support each child as a whole. My goal is to help children feel more regulated, confident, and capable — so meaningful speech and language growth can happen.

My Approach

I use a heart-centered, whole-child approach that includes the family as an essential part of the process. Together, we create meaningful, lasting changes that support not just speech — but overall well-being and connection.

In addition to my clinical background in speech-language pathology, I have pursued training in holistic modalities that support nervous system regulation and emotional well-being. Depending on each child's needs, I may incorporate:

  • Energy Balancing — a gentle approach that supports emotional and energetic regulation

  • Emotion Code — a technique to identify and release trapped emotional patterns that may contribute to stress or dysregulation

  • AO Scanner — a non-invasive bioenergetic assessment that provides insight into the body's energetic patterns

These approaches are always used thoughtfully, in combination with evidence-based speech therapy, to create the best possible environment for communication to grow

A little more about me…

Outside of the therapy room, I'm a mom on my own journey — learning, healing, and trying to find balance in this fast-paced world just like the families I work with.

Holistic living isn't just a professional philosophy for me — it's personal. I'm actively working on healing my own nervous system, supporting my family's well-being, and finding what it truly means to live a clean, balanced life. The work I do with children and families is deeply connected to the work I do at home.

I'm proud to be part of the Flower Mound community — a place I genuinely love — and to walk alongside local families on this path. When I sit with your child, I'm not just a clinician. I'm a mom who gets it, a neighbor who cares, and someone who has felt the same uncertainty and hope that you're feeling right now.
